The Kenda/SRT AMA West Hare Scramble Championship Series presented by MOJO Motosport headed to Shasta Lake, Ca. for round 4 of the 2019 race series. With the help from the Redding Dirt Riders, the NHHA could not have asked for a better weekend with weather conditions in the high 60’s and an awesome turnout of racers.
The PeeWee class was the first of the racers to take off of the start line Saturday morning per usual. Coming through the scoring chute off of the first lap, Brewer McNulty was in the lead ahead of Ryder Lenior in 2nd and Cruz Rodriguez in 3rd. It was not long before Mason Mooers joined this battle for the top 3 OA, racing alongside Rodriguez. Brewer McNulty finished the race in the lead next to Mason Mooers in 2nd and Cruz Rodriguez in 3rd to round out the Pee Wee podium.
The Jr. Mini, Jr. Girls, Micro Mini, & Youth C classes were in the next race of the day to follow the 50cc races. Cameron Tabatt in the Youth C class was the leader coming off of the first lap with Will Lackey and Myles Henderson battling it out for the 2nd OA position. For the Micro Mini class in this race, Lowe Lord held the lead, racing in the top 10 OA with Ryder Kroll in 2nd in class and Jackson Adams in 3rd. Behind Lowe in 11th OA was Bryan Mundt, holding the lead for the Jr. Mini class with Elizabeth Edwards in 2nd and Devin Raper racing 3rd in class. The checkered flag was out and the racers were able to get in 3 laps. Cameron Tabatt was the first racer to see the checkers, with Will Lackey in 2nd and Nathan Cordoza taking over 3rd OA to round out the Youth C podium. The Micro Mini podium saw Lowe Lord on top next to Ryder Kroll in 2nd and Jackson Adams in 3rd. The Jr. Mini podium saw Bryan Mundt in 1st, Elizabeth Edwards in 2nd, and Devin Raper finishing 3rd.
The last youth race of the day saw the Big Wheel, Mini, and Girls classes. The green flag was waved and Trenton Hall was the first off of the start line to steal the hole shot up until Talan Terlouw stole the lead after the first sharp turn off of the start line. Terlouw would remain in the lead from there, ahead of Seth Sadorra in 2nd and Italo Ruggiero in 3rd. By the middle of the race, Terlouw remained in the lead with Sadorra in 2nd and Ruggiero in 3rd but now with Lane Forbes quickly gaining time on the top 3 racers. By the time the checkered flag was waved, Forbes was now in 3rd OA behind Ruggiero in 2nd. The Big Wheel podium saw Talan Terlouw in 1st, Italo Ruggiero in 2nd, & Lane Forbes in 3rd.
The Mini class saw a lead from Harley Jefferies the entire race next to Zachary Francies in 2nd to round out the Mini podium. The Girls class saw a win from Alexa Conatser.
