January 21, 2019 – The KENDA SRT AMA West Hare Scramble Championship presented by MojoMotosport made their way to Prairie City SVRA for the first round of the season!. Located in the hills of Rancho Cordova, CA., this time of the year has always proven to produce challenging conditions for the racers with slick rocks and sloppy mud.
Kicking off the race weekend, the 65cc class saw a major comeback from Lowe Lord after racing in a third place position and taking the top spot on the podium for his class next to Connor Basler in 2nd and Jordan Maas in 3rd.
Up next was the PeeWee race, seeing an overall win from Maverick Alaway in 1st and Braxton Hughart in 2nd after an awesome race in the mud.
As for the last Youth race of the day, it was time for the Big Wheel class to race their first Hare Scramble of the 2019 season. New to the series, Jon Wolfson led the entire race with Italo Ruggiero in 2nd and Talan Terlouw in 3rd. Wolfson held his lead for the entirety of the race while Ruggiero and Terlouw fought close behind. Wolfson looks forward to racing the remainder of the West Hare Scrambles and is so far off to a great start.
