657After an action packed day 1 the racing continued to be exciting on day 2!

It would start off with the Women A/B, Masters and All C riders putting 110+ racers on the extended 10 mile course.  Into the first corner Sophia Oliveira looked to have the lead no problem but would spend the entire first lap battling with Masters racer Max Christensen. On adjusted time however she would have to worry about C 200 racer Hayden Hintz who actually lead almost the entire race until the final lap when Oliveira would put the hammer down. “I wasn’t getting caught on the last lap… that’s all I told myself.” she said on the podium while collecting the TBT Racing Women’s Overall $100 bonus.

Hintz would come through in 2nd overall, taking his class win and making up for his heat exhaustion he experienced on day 1. Cody Waltz would follow in 3rd overall taking the C 250 win while Christensen came in 4th taking his first masters class win of the season.

Race 2 would would start with 28 pros on the front line – 18 Pro / 10 FMF 250 Pro – and the odds on favorite for Hungry Valley, Purvines Racing’s Nick Burson, got the hole-shot and ran away with it. “You could say I’m familiar with the area. I used to work here doing testing a few years back and we have 1 or 2 races here a year so I knew the trails pretty well. I had to get out front early and put a gap before everyone learned the terrain and that’s just what I did.”

The real race was for the final 2 spots on the podium. Into the first corner 3 Bros KTM’s Ryan Kudla, SRT Off-road’s Cory Graffunder, 3 Bros Husqvarna’s Nick Stover, Ryan Dudek and a whole slew of fast racers would go at it and by the time they all got off the track and into the hills they had a good battle going on! Graffunder would pull away but RPM/KTM’s Travis Coy would work his way through the field after a terrible 1st lap to get around Graffunder on lap 6. The 2 went at it for the final 3 laps and Coy would take another 2nd overall followed by Graffunder in 3rd holding onto the points lead. Kudla followed in 4th with Stover in 5th taking the FMF Pro 250 win as well.

318 total riders on the weekend made for a successful 3rd Round and 1st WHS for Prospectors MC!
